Sue Pendlebury

I was deeply saddened last week to learn of the death of Sue Pendlebury, the founder of Yoga on a Shoestring.

Sue was one of my first Ashtanga teachers at Triyoga when I used to live in London. She was inspiring and enthusiastic – one of a number of such teachers who encouraged me to become a yoga teacher. I met her again when she was a teacher on my yoga teacher training with the Life Centre and the British Wheel of Yoga.

The world is a much sadder place without her.

The Sue Pendlebury Foundation website is live and there will be more to come – . . . Sue was a very karmic person who when facing her own demons was lionhearted, heroic, undaunted and all the other modifiers I can think of because she continued to fight the fight for others while fighting hard for herself. Please visit the foundation site and give what you can Sue’s dream is to raise funds to build a yoga centre alongside the WIDE children’s home in Thiruvannamalai, India. This will give the home an independent source of income which will sustain the children’s home for years to come.
