We held another very successful yoga workshop on Saturday in Brighton!
Davy and I have been running Workshops at Unit 4, Brighton, since around 2006 …. usually twice a year, though this year we fitted in a third. In the early days when it was just myself teaching (with Davy assisting of course) we would run them over the whole weekend; people from far afield would have a mini-break and stay in Brighton. Supper the first year was at The Sanctuary, a really super veggie cafe in Hove, much missed!
The combination of Peter Blackaby’s light & airy and well-equipped studio, a trip to Brighton (and the teachers I guess!) seems to keep bringing people back. And it is always so very special to see our yoga friends again, sometimes after a gap of many years, and often having seen them at classes in the days beforehand! Friendships have been formed with the get togethers, lunches are enjoyed between morning and afternoon workshops.
Yesterday’s workshop, was a resounding success from the feedback we’ve had so far: all down to our lovely students/friends who come from far and near – Kirsten and Claire all the way from Amsterdam – to do yoga with us. We feel privileged to be part of such a warm, fun-loving and brave community. Davy had the whole class trying handstands against the wall – with elbows on the floor and some went into full handstand. And some achieved headstand for the very first time. We did some chanting in the afternoon after our pranayama and meditation. The main theme of the day in both our workshops was balance, balance, balance and our students certainly seem a well balanced group! Here’s to the next workshop in the Spring (date to be set) and here’s to many many more.
A very big thank you to all our really special students!
