Davy is an active ashtanga practitioner and teacher based in Brighton. He has studied ashtanga yoga for eight years, and is currently learning the second or intermediate series.

Ashtanga is a dynamic and powerful form of yoga, following a set pattern of postures, each linked with dynamic and graceful movements or 'vinyasas'. With a focus on breathing, students stretch the muscles and tone the internal organs of every part of the body. It builds up strength, stamina and agility. It helps to focus the mind in a moving meditation.

Davy has undertaken teacher training with leading ashtanga teacher, David Swenson and has also completed the British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Year teacher training course. He has studied with a range of well-known ashtanga teachers such as Kristina Karitinos-Ireland, Paul Laurenson, Roz Peters and Nigel Jones. While primarily drawn to the ashtanga tradition, Davy believes that there is much to be learnt from other yoga traditions, such as Iyengar and Scaravelli.

Davy currently offers one to one and small group ashtanga classes in the Brighton area, and teaches an intermediate ashtanga class at LA Fitness in Hove at 8.30pm on Tuesdays
